Volunteering

Have you ever considered volunteering in your community?  Whether or not firefighting is you, you can still help out around the fire department. Residents of Marshall Township and surrounding areas 16 years of age or older are enouraged to apply to become a member of the fire company.

You can volunteer in the fire company in two ways:

All new members serve in a probationary period, depending on whether you are a company member or brigade member.  Company members have a 6 month trial period before being sworn in as full voting members. Brigade members have a 2 year probationary period, allowing time to complete the necessary fire and rescue training.

All members must attend a minimum number of meetings each year. They are expected to serve on one or more committees and assist in keeping the stations clean throughout the year. In addition, brigade members are expected to attend a number of training courses each year and ultimately complete Essentials of Fire Fighting, Basic Vehicle Rescue and Hazardous Materials Operations during their first two years.
