Application for Membership Membership ClassificationsThe following classifications; active brigade member, reserve member, company Member and lifetime member shall receive the following:1. shall receive a copy of the Constitution and By-Laws, the House Rules, and the Standard Operating Procedures 2. shall be issued a key to the fire department 3. shall receive Class A, B, & C uniforms, license plate, and promotional items as available (i.e., T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc.) 4. shall be invited to all Fire Company functions Probationary Member -All new member candidates shall serve a probationary period of a 6 months minimum/18 months maximum during which time their performance will be evaluated.A. Before coming off probation candidates must receive certifications required for their chosen membership classification. B. must obtain all points required for their chosen membership classification Active Company Member -This classification would be people that would like to do non-fire/rescue positions, example administrive, public relations, fire education public instructors.A. must obtain a minimum of 6 (six) meeting points annually B. must obtain a minimum of 3 (three) clean-up points annually C. must obtain a minimum of 1 (one) committee point annually D. may vote on all matters except Brigade Officers elections Active Brigade Member -This classification would be for people that would like to become fighters and/or rescue specialists.A. must obtain a minimum of 6 (six) meeting points annually B. must obtain a minimum of 18 (eighteen) training points annually C. must obtain a minimum of 3 (three) clean-up points annually D. must obtain a minimum of 1 (one) committee point annually between E. must have or achieve certification in Firefighting Basics/Essentials of Firefighting, Basic Vehicle Rescue, and HazMat Operations F. may vote on all matters including Brigade Officer elections G. shall be assigned a full set of fire gear and a minitor pager Reserve Member -May respond to fire/rescue calls in Marshall Township at the pleasure of the Brigade OfficersLifetime Member -Must have volunteered 15 years (consecutive or accumulative) of active service as a company, auxiliary brigade, or brigade member.A. shall receive a watch upon meeting requirements for lifetime membership. B. A Lifetime Member may remain on the rolls as an active company, auxiliary brigade, or brigade member as long as they continue to meet the requirements for their chosen membership category. Honorary Members -The Board of Directors may bestow the title of Honorary Member upon people who regularly provide non-traditional fire department assistance to the CompanyA. shall receive promotional items as available (i.e., T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc.) B. shall be invited to all Fire Company functions C.
