Funding a new fire station continues to be a concern. Although the
department has been setting aside funds for a new station in its annual
budget for several years, skyrocketing construction costs have surpassed
the building allocation. The township supervisors have supported this
endeavor with a no-interest $500,000 cash advancement. Even with this
cash advancement, additional grants and other fundraising activities are
needed to supplement the difference. The fire department hopes the
Marshall Township community will support its efforts to fund this badly
needed upgrade. If you would like to help by donating some of your time
or contributing to our building fund, please leave a message at

Building Summary:
In 2004, the department formed a building committee to explore what
structure would be needed to meet all current and future requirements.
They examined a wide range of factors, such as alternative locations,
future requirements for live-in quarters, and the growth rate of the
township. After considering other locations in the township and visiting
other townships with new fire stations to learn from their experiences,
the committee determined that expansion of the Warrendale station was the
most feasible option based on location and cost. Subsequently, the fire
department acquired the adjacent property and hired an architect to help
design a facility that will meet the townships needs for the next 20
years. Cost estimates for construction are estimated at $1.6 million.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Marshall Volunteer Fire Department will strive to
serve the community of Marshall Township by providing
fire, rescue, and special services using funds provided
by the community in an efficient manner. We value our
personnel and their safety and appreciate the time they
volunteer.
Your home and property are protected
from fire through the dedicated services of the Marshall
Township Volunteer Fire Department (MTVFD). MTVFD is an
all-volunteer organization that has approximately 25
active volunteers who donate countless hours of service,
training, and/or administrative work each week. To
further assure adequate protection throughout the
township, the Marshall VFC participates in a mutual aid
program along with companies from Wexford, Bradford
Woods, Cranberry, Economy Borough, Big Sewickley,
Franklin Park, and Big Knob Fire Depts. In addition to
fire protection, the volunteers provide residents with
disaster assistance services and rescue equipment.
The Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department
(MTVFD) is one of the busiest all volunteer fire department
in Allegheny County. MTVFD provides fire/rescue and fire
education programs throughout the 16.3 square miles of
Marshall Township. We currently have two stations, one
located at 270 Northgate Dr. (Warrendale) and the second
at 460 Knob Road (Next to Knob Park).
